You’ll be working with a 2,000-strong community of trade specialists, from senior leaders through to teams out on projects, so you need to be someone who’s confident, approachable and naturally chatty, the kind of person who builds relationships easily and isn’t afraid to start conversations. We’re on a journey to elevate the role of our trade specialists, recognising their expertise and supporting a shift from Trades to Technicians and you’ll play a key part in bringing that to life in a way that actually resonates with people. Whether you’re speaking with senior stakeholders or out on site with delivery teams, you’ll be just as comfortable in both worlds. You’ll know how to keep things clear, engaging and real.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with internal stakeholders to shape meaningful communication and engagement, including change initiatives
  • Develop internal communication materials such as employee announcements, newsletters, project features and campaigns
  • Support leadership engagement events
  • Create content for external media and communication channels
  • Contribute to the development of owned channels
  • Evaluate and report on communication effectiveness
  • Manage agencies and external providers where required
  • Travel to projects, depots and manufacturing facilities (with occasional overnight stays)

Essential:

  • Proven experience in corporate communications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience creating engaging content, including video
  • Ability to build relationships and work proactively
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Good understanding of social media and the UK media landscape

Desirable:

  • Experience with a transient workforce
  • Social and multimedia content creation (e.g. podcasts)
  • Knowledge of evaluation, measurement or change communications

Technical:

  • Familiarity with content management systems (e.g. SharePoint)
  • Social media and media monitoring tools
