You can be based: Manchester, Dartford, Worksop. Laing O'Rourke is looking for an experienced Apprenticeship Programme Development Partner to help shape, deliver, and continuously improve our apprenticeship offer across the business. This role plays a key part in ensuring apprentices receive excellent learning, the right support from line managers, and clear pathways to progression. You'll work closely with training providers, apprentices, and internal stakeholders to make sure programmes are compliant, future‑focused, and aligned to business needs.

What you'll do:

  • Manage the full apprenticeship journey from onboarding to successful completion and progression.
  • Develop and improve apprenticeship programmes to meet future skills needs.
  • Build strong relationships with training providers, holding regular progress and performance meetings.
  • Ensure apprentices are supported on programme, including working with line managers to keep training plans (PAPs) on track.
  • Monitor apprentice progress using data and feedback to proactively address risks.
  • Ensure compliance with apprenticeship legislation, funding rules, and governance requirements.
  • Deliver and support apprenticeship development modules (currently run in Dartford).
  • Coach, mentor, and guide apprentices and stakeholders throughout the programme.

What we're looking for:

  • Strong knowledge of apprenticeship programmes, legislation, levy, and governance.
  • Experience managing apprentices and working closely with training providers (training provider background welcomed).
  • Confident stakeholder manager, able to balance multiple relationships and priorities.
  • Data‑driven approach to monitoring performance and continuous improvement.
  • Passion for early careers and developing future talent.

Desirable:

  • Experience within construction or engineering.
  • Familiarity with early careers or skills‑based environments.
