Join the exciting journey of one of the UK's largest nuclear projects at Sizewell C! The Civil Works Alliance (CWA) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Planning Manager to join the Main Civil Works team. The Planning Manager (Main Civils) role is to work with the Planning Lead and the CWA wider team/s and take the lead in developing, managing, coordinating and monitoring the project programme and controls for all building structures that fall within the Conventional Island of the proposed power plant.
CWA, appointed by the Sizewell C client, brings together three leading delivery contractors — Laing O'Rourke, Bouygues, and Balfour Beatty — to deliver the civils scope including Enabling Earthworks, Main Civil Works, and Marine and Tunnelling.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain and update the contract/project programmes in accordance with the Project Requirements.
- Develop and agree by collaboration a logical sequence and methodology ensuring that the most beneficial construction strategy is adopted.
- Analyse performance and advise the project team of likely impact and recommend improvements.
- Provide leadership, support and training, and contribute to the career development of others.
- Co-ordinate with stakeholders, partners and supply chain all time related information.
- Represent the project/business with stakeholders.
- Provide strategic and short-term programmes.
- Report on progress and issues with advice on mitigation.
- Defining Resource requirements.
- Coordinate with internal customers – supply chain, engineering, design, commercial, construction.
- Responsible for the delivery of the planning and coordination processes.
- Commercial advice/implications on production/productivity/programme issues.
- Liaise with site team and supply chain to check on progress, issues and review planned progress to ensure programme maintained.
- Highlight issues for trending and resolution.
- Record and report on efficiency of labour and resources.
- Internal and external reporting.
What skills & experience are we looking for?
- Degree or other industry recognised qualification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or similar related sector.
- Planning experience at a senior level.
- Experienced in the production and management of Construction Programmes in a civil engineering environment, preferably on large scale infrastructure civil projects.
- Experience in the planning of reinforced concrete works.
Qualifications
- Degree in civil or structural engineering.
- Professionally qualified CIOB/MICE Membership (Desirable).
- 4D Synchro Modelling (Desirable).
