Health, Safety and Wellbeing Culture Manager

Location: Sizewell C Project Site – Suffolk

Step into the heart of one of the UK\’s most groundbreaking and ambitious nuclear projects – Sizewell C! As part of the dynamic Civil Works Alliance, we\’re seeking a Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) Culture Manager to take a lead role in shaping the future of health, safety, and wellbeing on this transformative project. This is your opportunity to be at the forefront of innovation in one of the most high-profile projects in the UK, where your contributions will directly influence the safety culture and operational excellence of a world-class team.

In this pivotal role, you\’ll work closely with the Head of HSW to craft and champion a behaviour-based induction and culture program that aligns with the project\’s ambitious goals. Your work will ensure that our workforce is not only equipped with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed, but also empowered to create a thriving culture of safety, wellbeing, and excellence. Key Responsibilities

  • Supports the Head of HSW in the development of a CWA behaviour-based Induction and Culture Program.
  • Co-ordinates the role out and delivery of the CWA Behaviour based training program.
  • Facilitates and drives the delivery of a suitable induction for CWA personnel.
  • Monitors legislation, client and parent companies for any changes that impact the CWA Induction or Culture Program.
  • Able to build relationships with the CWA project teams and wider interested stakeholders.
  • Where applicable, ensure that lessons learned from monitoring, events and or from the Alliance parent companies are adopted into the CWA Induction and Culture Program.
  • Ensure the Culture Program can meet the present and future challenges commensurate with the CWA work activities.
  • Monitor attendance records for inductions and the culture programme to ensure maximum efficiency is attained.
  • Ensure delegate feedback is reviewed and evaluated, and any learning is adopted into the induction or culture program as relevant.
  • Provide Behaviour Culture analysis during event investigations where individual behaviour has led to an incident or where a breach of a life-saving rule has taken place.
  • Supports the implementation of the Nuclear Safety message with the whole CWA team.

What skills & experience are we looking for?

  • Strong planning and management skills for both individual and team workloads.
  • Ability to promote a positive HSW culture and provide constructive feedback on performance, strengths, and development needs.
  • Good understanding of UK Health and Safety Legislation and behavioural-based safety.
  • Reporting & Data Analysis: Skilled in using data to prepare reports for the CWA Induction and Culture Program.
  • Certifications: CSCS Managers/Professionals competence and NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety.
  • Familiar with Site Induction processes and experienced in implementing health and safety culture programs.
  • Experience in managing teams and providing leadership to direct reports.
