Laing O'Rourke is recruiting Senior Design Managers for major projects across Greater London – and we’re looking for talent across all disciplines: Architectural, Electrical & Mechanical Engineering.
The Opportunity
You’ll take the lead on design for one of the UK’s most high-profile airport infrastructure projects. From early engagement to delivery, you’ll drive collaboration across client, consultant, commercial, and delivery teams — ensuring buildability, safety, compliance, and innovation are embedded at every stage. As part of our Engineering Enterprise, you’ll join a nationwide network of design professionals focused on excellence, performance, and innovation.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the pre-construction and construction-phase design delivery
- Be the link between commercial, technical, and site teams
- Drive forward design assurance, compliance and programme certainty
- Ensure technical solutions are robust, safe and deliverable
- Champion collaborative working and continuous improvement
What We’re Looking For
- Strong end-to-end design management experience (concept to completion)
- Degree-qualified in Architecture, Building Services, MEICA or related fields
- Aviation sector experience, or transferable skills from secure or complex projects
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
