Laing O\’Rourke is recruiting Senior Design Managers for major projects across Greater London– and we\’re looking for talent across all disciplines: Architectural, Electrical & Mechanical Engineering.
TheOpportunity:You\’ll take the lead on design for one of the UK\’s most high-profile airport infrastructure projects. From early engagement to delivery, you\’ll drive collaboration across client, consultant, commercial, and delivery teams — ensuring buildability, safety, compliance, and innovation are embedded at every stage.
As part of our Engineering Enterprise , you\’ll join a nationwide network of design professionals focused on excellence, performance, and innovation.
What you\’ll do:
Lead the pre-construction and construction-phase design delivery
Be the link between commercial, technical, and site teams
Drive forward design assurance, compliance and programme certainty
Ensure technical solutions are robust, safe and deliverable
Champion collaborative working and continuous improvement
What we\’re looking for:
Strong end-to-end design management experience (concept to completion)
Degree-qualified in Architecture, Building Services, MEICA or related fields
Aviation sector experience, or transferable skills from secure or complex projects
A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
