Select Plant Hire (part of Laing O'Rourke) provides plant, equipment, and operational support to major construction projects across the UK, helping teams deliver safely, efficiently, and to programme.
Role Purpose
To provide a professional, organised, and accurate administration service ensuring all weekly timesheet activity is processed correctly and compliantly, supporting the Operations team and meeting group payroll requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive weekly timesheets from operatives via sites and line managers
- Ensure all timesheets are fully completed, authorised, and submitted within deadlines
- Produce attendance reports for line managers as required
- Verify contract numbers and WBS codes to ensure accurate costing
- Enter timesheet information accurately and promptly into the Timekeeper system
- Verify eligibility for lodge payments
- Submit Timekeeper files and supporting documentation to Group Payroll within set timescales
- Maintain and update the Timekeeper database
- Verify right‑to‑work documentation for new starters
- Scan and upload employee documentation into Timekeeper
- Maintain and update personnel files
- Book and update training records
- Support invoicing processes
- Carry out general administrative duties as required
Key Skills & Experience
- Highly organised, logical, and able to prioritise workload
- Strong attention to detail with high levels of accuracy
- Numerate and literate with good IT skills
- Confident using Excel and computer systems
- Experience with payroll or HR systems (COINS / iTrent knowledge desirable)
- Able to work calmly under pressure and meet deadlines
- Adaptable to change and new procedures
- Strong communication skills with the ability to deal with individuals at all levels
- Team‑oriented with the ability to support and motivate
- Commercial awareness
- IR / HR knowledge and industry experience desirable
