The Quantity Surveyor Opportunity:
Select is looking for a Quantity Surveyorto join the team in Dartford. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Commercial professional to take ownership of key commercial activities, work closely with project teams and contribute to the successful delivery of projects.
What will the role look like?
- Taking responsibility for the commercial management of allocated work sections and packages, including measurement, valuations and agreement of works.
- Drafting, managing and settling subcontracts, alongside managing interim applications, internal valuations and final accounts.
- Monitoring and reporting monthly costs, forecasts and commercial performance, maintaining accurate commercial records and documentation.
- Providing commercial and contractual advice to the project and senior management teams, including the implications of proposed actions.
- Identifying, assessing and administering change, claims, commercial risks and opportunities, ensuring these are communicated and managed effectively.
- Producing monthly contract review reports and compiling weekly Business Performance Review (BPR) information.
- Supporting the development of Assistant and Trainee Commercial personnel through guidance, mentoring and knowledge sharing.
What skills & experience are we looking for?
- Degree or higher qualification inQuantity Surveying.
- Proven experience in a Quantity Surveying or Commercial role within the construction industry.
- Good knowledge of COINS, including subcontract and cost management.
- Strong understanding of commercial and contractual management, with excellent communication, negotiation and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership and provide effective commercial support to project teams.
- A proactive approach with the ability to identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
