Are you an experienced BMS Design Manager looking to work on one of the UK's most significant life sciences infrastructure programmes? Do you have a passion for delivering technically complex, smart, and secure building systems in regulated environments? Then Crown House Technologies is the company for you! We are looking for a BMS Design manager to join our team to support the delivery of our flagship life sciences facility that will set new benchmarks in performance, resilience, and digital integration.
As BMS Design Manager you will be responsible for leading the design and coordination of Building Management Systems on a large, technically demanding life sciences development. Your focus will be on ensuring that the BMS design meets the highest standards of performance, compliance, and integration—supporting a facility with stringent operational and environmental controls.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the full BMS design lifecycle from concept through to technical assurance and handover
- Lead coordination across MEP, ICT, digital engineering, and controls specialists
- Oversee compliance with design standards, regulatory requirements, and project performance targets
- Review and manage technical submittals, drawings, and control strategies
- Interface with client, consultants, and delivery teams to ensure smooth design progression
- Support commissioning and validation planning for integrated building systems
- Strong technical knowledge of BMS systems, controls architecture, and integration
- Experience managing BMS design on large-scale or highly serviced buildings (e.g. labs, healthcare, cleanrooms)
- Excellent coordination and communication skills
- Familiarity with UK standards (e.g. CIBSE, EN15232) and digital design processes
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and external consultants
- Eligibility for UK security clearance (or ability to gain it if required)
- Understanding of regulated environments, validation processes, and building performance compliance
- Experience with platforms such as Trend, Tridium, Siemens, Schneider or similar
- Knowledge of cybersecurity and IT network considerations in BMS design
- Experience with BIM tools and model-based design workflows
