Assistant Digital Build Engineer to join our Digital Build team and support the development of coordinated construction models that enable safe, efficient and predictable project delivery.
This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring engineer with a passion for BIM, digital construction and modern methods of delivery to develop their career on some of the UK's most complex and rewarding projects.
The Opportunity
As an Assistant Digital Build Engineer, you'll work closely with project delivery, engineering and design teams to create and coordinate construction-level digital models (UK BIM Level 5).
You'll help identify coordination, sequencing and buildability challenges before construction begins, improving certainty, reducing risk and supporting efficient delivery on site.
Working as part of the wider Technical Function, you'll contribute to Digital Build reviews, model coordination and digital construction workflows across a range of major projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of project Digital Build scopes.
- Produce and coordinate 3D models for permanent and temporary works elements.
- Review design information and identify clashes, coordination issues and buildability risks.
- Support Digital Review workshops and multidisciplinary model review meetings.
- Manage BIM issues and technical queries using platforms such as BIMCollab.
- Issue coordinated model content for site setting out, quantification and construction activities.
- Support the management of federated Digital Build models and ensure information is kept up to date.
- Input and manage model metadata requirements.
- Produce clash detection reports and model review outputs.
- Work collaboratively with Project Engineers, Technical Leads, Df MA Engineers and Design Teams.
- Support digital workflows using Trimble Connect, Autodesk Construction Cloud and related platforms.
About You
Essential
• Degree qualified, or working towards a degree, in
- Civil Engineering
- Structural Engineering
- Construction Management
- Or a related discipline
- Understanding of construction methods and engineering principles.
- Experience using BIM and digital construction tools.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and construction information.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Highly organised with a proactive approach to problem solving.
• Experience using
- Revit
- Navisworks
Desirable
- Experience working within a construction, engineering or design environment.
- Understanding of BIM coordination and model federation processes.
- Knowledge of temporary works and construction sequencing.
- Working towards professional accreditation or chartership.
- Awareness of Df MA and digital delivery principles.
• Experience using
- Trimble Connect, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Asite, BIMCollab, Solibri, Simple BIM, Dynamo, Power BI, Auto CAD, Civil 3D
