The opportunity

Crown House Technologies, the specialist MEP delivery business of Laing O'Rourke, is seeking a Senior MEP Commercial Manager to join the team delivering Hinkley Point C, one of Europe's largest construction projects.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of a nationally significant nuclear power station while managing complex MEP packages within a highly regulated environment.

What will the role look like?

  • Lead the commercial governance of a £180m–£200m MEP package, ensuring robust commercial controls throughout delivery.
  • Manage all commercial aspects of the package, working closely with subcontractors, operational teams and key stakeholders.
  • Drive commercial, contractual and financial performance to maximise profit, cash flow and margin.
  • Prepare cost reports, forecasts, contract reviews and business updates for the project leadership team.
  • Monitor project costs and performance, proactively managing commercial risks and ensuring strong contract administration.
  • Manage procurement, subcontractors, variations, claims and change control.
  • Support day-to-day commercial delivery, including labour performance and defect management.
  • Provide commercial and contractual advice, promoting governance and best practice across the project.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and the wider project team.
  • Support budget management, financial control and the development of junior commercial team members.

What skills & experience are we looking for?

  • Strong NEC contract knowledge within MEP and infrastructure delivery.
  • Proven experience as a Commercial Manager / Senior Commercial Manager within the MEP sector, gained with a specialist MEP contractor or a main contractor.
  • Degree qualified in relevant discipline (Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management)
  • Member of RICS or working towards achieving MRICS status preferable.
