Are you an Electrical Engineer with design, development, test and management experience? The purpose of this role within Bylor is to ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant installation of electrical systems. Their role involves designing, overseeing, testing, and maintaining electrical infrastructure while coordinating with other teams to meet project requirements. You will aim to deliver high-quality electrical systems that are functional, efficient, and safe for the intended use.
Bouygues Travaux Publics (TP) and Laing O'Rourke, two of Europe's most dynamic engineering and construction specialists, are working together in a joint venture named BYLOR to deliver the main civil engineering works at Hinkley Point C (HPC) worth over Β£2.8 billion. Bylor are pushing the boundaries of innovation and modern technology while delivering high quality construction on a massive scale. Bylor have already broken the UK record for the largest continuous concrete pour of 9,000m3 of concrete. Key responsibilities and specific accountabilities:
- Creating and reviewing designs to ensure compliance with regulations and project specifications.
- Reviewing and advising on correct protection settings for electrical systems on site.
- Supervising installation, ensuring quality, safety, and adherence to industry standards.
- Conducting inspections, testing electrical systems, and troubleshooting faults.
- Ensuring compliance with health & safety regulations (e.g., BS 7671).
- Liaising with various project teams and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.
Requirements:
- HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering, knowledge of electrical regulations, and strong problem-solving skills.
Key Skills & Competencies:

- Proficient in Trimble ProDesign or similar software
- Basic level knowledge of AutoCAD

Additional Information:
All positions within Bylor are employed directly with either Laing O'Rourke or Bouygues Travaux Public and include competitive salaries, private medical insurance, company pension schemes and annual holiday allowance. Some grades will also include a company car allowance. Unless stated otherwise all positions are based at Hinkley Point C in Somerset. Somerset boasts beautiful English countryside, an attractive coastline, interesting towns and villages along with easy access to the M5 and within proximity to the cities of Bristol and Exeter.
