Opportunity: We are currently seeking an experienced Project Leader to join a major project at Hinkley Point C in Somerset.
This is a key leadership position for an individual with a strong background in demolition, bulk earthworks and major civil engineering projects.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading site delivery, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality, programme and commercial standards.
Key Responsibilities Lead and manage project delivery from mobilisation through to completion.
Oversee demolition and bulk earthworks activities, ensuring works are delivered safely and efficiently.
Manage site teams, subcontractors and specialist contractors.
Develop and monitor project programmes, ensuring key milestones are achieved.
Ensure works comply with project specifications, quality requirements and HSE standards.
Identify and manage project risks, issues and opportunities.
Work closely with the Project Manager, commercial team, engineering team and client representatives.
Monitor progress and provide clear reporting against programme, cost, quality and safety.
Drive a positive safety culture across the project team.
Ensure all works are delivered in accordance with the stringent requirements of a major nuclear construction environment.
About You The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience leading major construction or civil engineering projects, with previous hands-on project leadership experience in demolition and bulk earthworks essential.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience working on large-scale infrastructure, industrial, nuclear or other complex construction projects.
Proven experience as a Project Leader, Project Manager or Senior Site Manager on major projects.
Strong previous experience in demolition and bulk earthworks.
Experience managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary site teams.
A strong understanding of construction methodology, sequencing and project delivery.
Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
A strong focus on health, safety, quality and environmental standards.
Relevant construction/civil engineering qualifications.
CSCS/SMSTS or equivalent relevant site/project management qualifications.
