Laing O'Rourke / Expanded are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Utility Surveyor to increase our utility capabilities. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in conducting detailed surveys to identify, map, and record underground utilities and infrastructure. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on challenging projects, utilise state-of-the-art equipment, and contribute to the growth and success of our company.
Location: Cambridgeshire & Midlands (travel required)

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive utility surveys using advanced surveying techniques and equipment.
- Accurately identify, locate, and map underground utilities including water, gas, electricity, telecommunications, and sewer systems under PAS128 standards.
- Utilise Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), electromagnetic locators, and other surveying tools to collect data and create detailed utility maps.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure survey objectives are met and deliverables are of the highest quality.
- Adhere to health and safety guidelines and regulations while working in diverse environments and conditions.
- Provide technical expertise and support to junior surveying staff as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Level 5 qualification in Utility Mapping and Surveying or equivalent (Desired).
- Proven experience working as a Utility Surveyor, preferably in a commercial or industrial setting.
- Proficiency in using surveying equipment such as GPR, electromagnetic locators, total stations, and GPS systems.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
- The candidate must have the right to work in the UK.
- CICES membership (Member) or equivalent (desired but not mandatory).
