Job Title:SeniorSocial Value Advisor
Location: Based in Manchester, Sale -with influence across Lincolnshire, Suffolk & Newcastle (limited travel)
Ready to drive meaningful change on MOD projects? Laing O\’Rourke is seeking a passionate Senior Social Value Advisor to lead the creation and delivery of social value strategies across single living accommodation programmes in three regions. Based in Manchester with limited travel, this role offers the opportunity to work across a high-profile MOD framework, shaping impactful initiatives that leave a lasting legacy.
The Role:
- Be based in Manchester with the project team to plan, coordinate, and support delivery remotely
- Develop and customize local implementation plans from a national social value strategy
- Inspire and guide site teams and project managers to deliver social value outcomes on the ground
- Manage stakeholder relationships, including senior leadership engagement
- Write and report on social value plans and KPIs, using frameworks like the UK Government\’s Social Value Model and UN SDGs
- Track progress and risks, ensuring commitments are met without micromanaging day-to-day delivery
Who You Are:
- Experienced in running programmes or projects, ideally with social value planning and delivery
- Skilled at project management and strategic planning
- Comfortable working closely with senior leadership and managing stakeholders
- Strong communicator with a personable approach
- Ideally, you\’ve had onsite experience or worked in an office role delivering onsite programmes
- Confident in tailoring plans to local needs while aligned to national goals
- Ready to be hands-on with planning and leadership, but not driving across sites every day
