We are seeking a reward professional to join our high-performing reward team, supporting a large and diverse workforce. In this role, you will support a variety of reward activities, including salary benchmarking, employee benefits, policy development and more. You will support the team in maintaining and improving our benefits strategies to ensure they remain competitive, compliant, and aligned with business objectives. An understanding of reward, along with a willingness to learn and a proactive approach, will support your success in this role.
About the team
Our reward team is a high-performing and collaborative function within the wider People (HR) team at Laing O'Rourke. We play a critical role in shaping the employee experience by designing and delivering competitive and fair reward strategies that help attract, motivate, and retain top talent across the organisation. The reward team provides expertise in areas such as compensation benchmarking, benefits, recognition, and performance-related pay. Our work supports the development of reward frameworks that are aligned with Laing O'Rourke's strategic goals and values, ensuring that our people feel valued and rewarded for their contributions.
Duties include:
- Provides informed advice to the business, both proactively and in response to queries, on salary positions and grade of job roles.
- Leads on job evaluations for new and existing roles, ensuring appropriate job families and levels.
- Responsible for implementation (including project management across other LOR teams) of new benefits and Reward policies.
- Leads the annual benefit review taking ownership of renewal and ongoing communication and benefit information documents.
- Responsible for organising participation in salary surveys including job sizing, job matching and survey submissions.
- Responsible for pay benchmarking ensuring our salary ranges are competitive to the market.
- Supports in the successful delivery of the annual salary review, as well as any out of cycle processes and early talent programme increases.
Technical Capabilities:
- Proven experience (ideally 5+ years) within a Reward, Compensation, or broader People/HR function, with a strong focus on pay and benefits.
- Hands-on experience with analytical job evaluation methodologies; experience with specific systems (e.g., Willis Towers Watson) is desirable.
- Knowledge of salary benchmarking tools and survey systems (experience with Willis Towers Watson and PayData advantageous).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to manage and interpret complex data sets confidently.
- Good working knowledge of GDPR requirements and how they apply to reward data and employee records.
- Aware of global mobility practices and considerations is desirable.
