Are you an experienced Post-Tension Engineer? Do you have a Structural Monitoring background with a technical approach, or experience in concrete Bridges? If so, we are looking for a specialist Post-Tensioning Engineer who can plan, prepare, and coordinate the delivery of Post-tensioning and Structural Monitoring Systems of the EPR Reactor Building Inner Containment.
Bouygues Travaux Publics (TP) and Laing O'Rourke, two of Europe's most dynamic engineering and construction specialists, are working together in a joint venture named BYLOR to deliver the main civil engineering works at Hinkley Point C (HPC) worth over £2.8 billion. Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse, seek clarity, and convey the relevant specific construction information to the Client, sub-contractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Review and secure approval on procedures, method statements, risk assessments, task sheets, material approval forms, and inspection test plans, in accordance with the project requirements and manufacturing specifications.
- Analyse 3D models and drawings related to the prestressing and monitoring components, including detailed de-clashing and improvement exercises for the concrete structures.
- Ensure our Health and Safety culture is implemented, actively identify, and eliminate (or reduce) hazards and risks through dedicated risk assessments.
- Work with the relevant project teams/stakeholders to comply with the environmental standards and rules set for the project, compliant to regulations, actively seeking to reduce waste-streams and minimise our carbon footprint.
- Conduct regular surveillance and performance evaluation of subcontractor's works and provide feedback to stakeholders.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in technology to recommend innovative solutions to further improve processes and systems.
- Assist in coordinating the subcontractors' activities with other stakeholders (Client, Designer, Supervisor, other contractors).
- Oversee the planning and development of the working sequence and implement the subcontractor's programme of works within our Main Contractor's Programme.
- Develop alternative solutions to existing methods and practices to improve productivity, quality, and/or safety helping to create best practices.
Technical Knowledge:
- Post-tensioning Systems EAD and Standards
- AutoCad Review of 3D Modelling (Naviswork or equivalent)
- Leadership and guidance to the technical professionals, including software developers, engineers, and technicians
- Foster a positive and collaborative team environment, promoting open communication and knowledge-sharing
- Stay up to date with Post-tensioning systems and structural monitoring state of the art
- Monitor the progress of the project, reacting to potential delays and promote innovative solutions
All positions with Bylor are employed directly with either Laing O'Rourke or Bouygues Travaux Public and include competitive salaries, company pension schemes, and annual paid leave. Some grades will also include a company car allowance. Employees can enrol in private medical insurance schemes and other benefits. Unless stated otherwise, all positions are based at Hinkley Point C in Somerset. Periodic attendance in weekend and nightshift may apply, for which an additional uplift is applied.
