We are seeking a compensation analyst to join our high-performing reward team, supporting a large and diverse workforce.

As a compensation analyst, you will support the delivery of reward activities, including salary benchmarking and data analysis. You will assist in maintaining accurate data and contribute to the continuous improvement of reward policies, tools, and processes. A basic understanding of core employee benefits will be important to support broader reward activities.

About the team

Our reward team is a high-performing and collaborative function within the wider People (HR) team at Laing O\’Rourke. We play a critical role in shaping the employee experience by designing and delivering competitive and fair reward strategies that help attract, motivate, and retain top talent across the organisation.

The reward team provides expertise in areas such as compensation benchmarking, benefits, recognition, and performance-related pay. Our work supports the development of reward frameworks that are aligned with Laing O\’Rourke\’s strategic goals and values, ensuring that our people feel valued and rewarded for their contributions.

Duties include:

  • Support in development of a new pay and total reward strategy.
  • Assist with job evaluation, evaluating new and existing roles for appropriate job families, levels and salary ranges.
  • Assist with analysis of external market data to benchmark roles to ensure compensation package remain competitive.
  • Supporting in the successful delivery of the annual salary review, as well as promotion, merit and market adjustment requests.
  • Analysis of compensation data to create regular, ad-hoc and formal reports for the team and internal stakeholders. Support the preparation of regulatory disclosures such as gender pay gap and ethnicity pay gap.

Technical Capabilities:

  • Experience with an analytical job evaluation system.
  • Experience in salary survey systems (Willis Tower Watson and PayData knowledge desirable).
  • Advanced understanding of Microsoft Excel
  • Understanding of common employee benefits
