Overview

The Welfare & Inclusion Manager will work at South Hylton Primary Academy, a member of Laidlaw Schools Trust, as part of the academy's Inclusion Team under the strategic direction of the SENDCo and the Headteacher to lead and coordinate the school's pastoral, wellbeing and inclusion provision through the academy's developing Inclusion Pathway model. The role exists to remove barriers to learning by ensuring that pupils and families receive timely, targeted and effective support that improves attendance, behaviour, emotional wellbeing, safeguarding and engagement in school life.

Responsibilities

  • Work strategically and operationally alongside senior leaders to develop a strong culture of inclusion, regulation and support across the academy.
  • Lead and coordinate pastoral, wellbeing and inclusion provision through the academy's Inclusion Pathway model.
  • Ensure timely, targeted and effective support for pupils and families to improve attendance, behaviour, emotional wellbeing, safeguarding, and engagement in school life.
  • Collaborate with the Inclusion Team to remove barriers to learning and promote an inclusive environment.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Commitment to children's safeguarding.
  • Experience in education or a related field.
  • Will be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check and a range of other pre‑employment recruitment checks.
