Job Purpose
As a Construction Project Manager at Lagardère Travel Retail UK & IRE, you’ll lead the delivery and upgrades of new and existing retail/food & beverage units across our expanding airport portfolio. With a strong focus on construction and technical coordination, you’ll help bring our commercial concepts to life, ensuring each site is built to specification, on time, and in line with airport regulations and brand standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead in the planning and delivery of designated construction projects for new and existing retail and F&B units within UK and IRE airports.
- Fully own projects.
- Monitor site progress, flag risks, and work on issue resolutions to keep projects on track and within budget offering VE opportunities where appropriate.
- Support technical site assessments, feasibility studies, and coordination with architects, engineers, and contractors.
- Ensure all drawings are updated and distributed to relevant stakeholders.
- Produce and track construction timelines, manage project documentation, and ensure compliance with airport and building regulations/expectations.
- Programme management to ensure client direct items/works are scheduled correctly for overall fit out programme.
- Liaise and establish clear lines of communication with internal teams (commercial, operations, design) and external stakeholders to ensure smooth execution and needs met.
- Programme and inform all parties of Pre-start meetings, handover meetings, site meetings and snagging meetings. Postholder will lead these elements.
- Chairing design team meetings to review progress/programme to meet key design and procurement time frames. Post meeting, actioning follow ups and distributing minutes.
- Assist the Interior Designer / Architect / Planning Consultant in initiating discussions with local authority planners, building control and fire officers; check that all requirements/conditions are dealt with appropriately.
- Contribute to post-completion reviews and help refine construction delivery processes as part of our ongoing expansion and development.
- Coordinating handover activities, meetings and documentation for issue.
- Working closely with the selected contractor at completion to ensure defects are closed out within a timely manner and final accounts agreed.
- Support Internal procurement with the onboarding of professional teams (MEP, Structural engineers, fit out contractor etc).
- Own CAPEX budget & cash flow projection for designated projects. Preparing PO’s if required.
- Continual cost monitoring and advice during development of design proposals and reporting as required.
Experience And Skills
- A foundational understanding of construction and fit-out processes, ideally within retail or hospitality environments.
- Airport experience beneficial however not essential.
- Experience in project coordination or construction support roles.
- Strong organisational and communication skills, with attention to detail in managing technical documentation and schedules.
- Confidence using Excel and PowerPoint to support reporting and stakeholder communications.
- A proactive, hands‑on approach and willingness to learn in a fast‑paced, regulated airport environment.
- Ability to travel to various locations within UK and Ireland. Adhoc travel to various international locations may be required.
