Job Purpose
The Kitchen Team Member is responsible for supporting kitchen operations by preparing food to a high standard, ensuring strict food hygiene practices, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment. You will play a key role in delivering a seamless back‑of‑house experience that supports the wider team and contributes to excellent service.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble food items according to standard recipes and portion sizes.
- Follow all food safety, hygiene, and allergen control procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen, including equipment, surfaces, and storage areas.
- Monitor stock levels and inform the manager of any shortages or required replenishments.
- Receive, check, and store deliveries safely and appropriately.
- Support kitchen deep‑cleaning schedules and daily hygiene checklists.
- Handle kitchen equipment safely and report any faults or concerns.
- Comply with health and safety regulations at all times.
- Work efficiently with the team to support smooth service and fast turnaround times.
- Report all hazards and/or concerns immediately to the manager on duty.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food preparation role is preferred but not essential.
- Awareness of food hygiene standards and willingness to undertake training.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
