Job purpose
The Barista is responsible for providing excellent customer service by taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring a positive dining experience for guests.
You will work closely with the kitchen staff and management to deliver high-quality service and contribute to the overall success of the restaurant.
Our Shipyard Cafe is located inside our Aelia Duty Free at Belfast International Airport!
Contract
37.5 hours per week, across 5 days | 30 hours per week, across 4 days | 22.5 hours per week, across 3 days | 15 hours per week, across 2 days | 7.5 hours per week, across 1 day

Key Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Take food and beverage orders accurately and promptly.
- Provide menu recommendations and answer questions about food and drinks.
- Serve food and beverages to customers, ensuring timely delivery.
- Monitor tables and attend to guests' needs throughout their dining experience.
- Handle customer complaints or concerns with professionalism and resolve issues as needed.
- Process payments and manage cash transactions accurately.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area and workstations.
- Assist with setting up and clearing tables, as well as restocking supplies.
- Report all hazards and/or concerns immediately to the manager on duty.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service role is preferred but not required.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
- Basic math skills for handling payments and calculating bills.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

- Accessing the airport
A five-year working and personal reference, along with a Criminal Reference Check, will be required for this role as the store is airside in the departures lounge.
