Role Overview
Are you a civil engineering graduate looking to kickstart your career in an exciting and diverse business? If the answer is yes, then we want to hear from you! We’re Lagan Aviation & Infrastructure, a leader in the construction and maintenance of airport and military infrastructure worldwide. As a graduate, you’ll be working with our highly experienced teams to provide the engineering skills and technologies needed to build in security critical environments.
With over 30 years of experience in over twenty countries we are the specialists in the delivery of airside and landside aviation projects for the Military and Civil Aviation Sectors.
We operate across all major airports in the UK and Ireland, including logistically challenging regional airports such as those in the Highlands & Islands of Scotland and the Channel Islands. Globally, we have successfully delivered projects in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Caribbean.
We’re also a key delivery partner to the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO), providing support to the UK Armed Forces at Ministry of Defence (MOD) bases throughout the UK and overseas.
What you’ll do
As a graduate engineer at Lagan A&I we’ll support you to develop your full potential for an exciting and rewarding career with us. You’ll get a broad introduction to our business and have the opportunity to learn from industry experts that will include the following:
·Producing design solutions and AutoCAD drawings for our civil engineering projects, fully supported by our experienced team of engineers and technicians
·Working on smaller projects allowing you to develop your practical skillset
·Progressing to working independently on larger and more challenging projects.
·Developing skills in aviation infrastructure, drainage, earthworks, and level design, with an appreciation for sustainable development
·Working on a range of different projects delivering unique solutions for a range of clients.
·Working on a wide range of schemes with specific design requirements and constraints
·Working on a broad variety of projects which help to develop and improve societies and the economy and look toward ensuring a sustainable future
What you’ll bring
·A Civil Engineering degree or in your final year studying towards this with a good technical understanding of engineering principles
·A knowledge of AutoCAD and other industry software
·Keen to share your ideas and learn about how we can do things better
·Effective communication skills developed through well-rounded life experience – academically, socially and in any previous work situations
·An analytical person with well-developed communication skills with the ability to build relationships with a wide variety of people at all levels
·Personal organisation skills, and the ability to collaborate with a team
·Right to Work and live in the UK. There may be opportunities to work overseas too.
·Work experience in the engineering industry, either through work experience or as part of an academic course would be ideal but not essential.
