How you’ll Develop Our Engineers have exceptional skills and knowledge, and at first you will be assigned to shadow one of them as your mentor. Your mentor will provide you with a development plan and will provide you with the opportunities to gain practical, hands-on experience. You will receive support and mentorship, allowing you to put your theory-based learning into practice and explore the “what and how”. This is an excellent opportunity to be involved in exciting contemporary projects, including our Hydrogen and Oxygen demonstrator project. This placement could also lead to further opportunities after graduation.
What you’ll do During placement, your key opportunities and duties will include;
- Working with an experienced team, to understand compliance with Health & Safety and CDM regulations during the design and installation phases.
- Visibility of the preparation of client and contractor tenders.
- Assisting with obtaining quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Assisting with writing specifications for orders and subcontracts.
- Aid the team in placing orders using the COINS system.
- Gain an understanding of how to ensure mechanical designs are developed with health and safety in mind, before construction.
- Learn how to provide support to the construction team on mechanical design-related issues.
- Collaborate with Engineers in other disciplines and CAD Technicians to facilitate smooth project delivery.
- Opportunities to travel to projects in the UK & Ireland

What you’ll bring We are looking for ambitious Mechanical, Electrical and Chemical Engineering Students (Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree Level), commencing their University Placement in academic year 2026-27.
The ideal Candidate will be;
- A team player and effective communicator, who enjoys working with people
- Organised and resilient, when working in fast-paced, challenging environments
- Confident with IT, with knowledge of what packages we might use
- Flexible, to travel in UK & Ireland where required.
