Role Overview
You will act as the key link between the site workforce and the Project Manager, ensuring works are carried out safely, correctly and in line with drawings, specifications and programme requirements.
Why this role stands out
This is a hands-on, site-focused role for an experienced tradesperson looking to step into a leadership position. As Site Foreman, you will be responsible for running the day-to-day works on site, coordinating subcontractors, controlling quality and driving progress on the ground.
What you'll do
- Site Leadership & Coordination: Take day-to-day control of site activities, ensuring works progress in line with the construction programme. Direct and coordinate subcontractors on site, ensuring they understand what is required and when. Plan monthly, weekly, daily and short-term activities, prioritising works to keep the site moving efficiently in line with the construction programme. Act as the main on-site point of contact, reporting directly to the Project Manager.
- Quality Control: Inspect works on an ongoing basis to ensure they meet required quality standards, specifications and drawings. Ensure works are completed in line with company standards and best practice. Identify defects, non-compliance or poor workmanship and ensure these are addressed promptly. Flag quality issues, risks or concerns to the Project Manager at the earliest opportunity. Liaise with external bodies to arrange site visits and checks to ensure all checkpoints are getting viewed and reported on as necessary.
- Technical Responsibilities: Read, understand and work from construction drawings, specifications and details. Interpret drawings on site and clearly communicate requirements to subcontractors. Assist in resolving technical or sequencing issues on site in collaboration with the Project Manager and design team. Ensure correct construction methods are being followed across all trades.
- Health & Safety: Promote and maintain a strong health and safety culture on site. Ensure subcontractors work in accordance with RAMS and site safety requirements. Monitor site activities to ensure safe systems of work are always followed. Report any safety concerns, incidents or near misses immediately. Carry out standard daily check sheets and daily site briefings with subcontractors. Ensure induction and training records are up to date.
- Communication & Reporting: Regularly update the Project Manager on progress, issues, labour levels and upcoming risks. Assist with short-term planning and coordination of upcoming works. Support site records, progress photos and inspections as required. Maintain professional relationships with subcontractors and site personnel.
What you'll bring

- Proven experience working on construction sites in a supervisory role.
- Ability to manage people and coordinate multiple subcontractors on site.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing and quality standards.
