Join H&J Martin Construction as a Site Manager. H&J Martin Construction (part of Lagan Specialist Group) is one of Ireland's longest standing and most successful Building Contractors. We have successfully contributed to the Built Heritage of Ireland, with the delivery of iconic buildings such as the City Hall in Belfast, the Slieve Donard Hotel in County Down and Arnotts Department store in Dublin. Our contribution to iconic sites has continued in recent times with the ongoing development of the famous Kings Hall site in Belfast. As a Site Manager, you'll play a key role in leading projects to successful, safe and high-quality delivery, driving progress on site, supporting your team and ensuring every project is completed efficiently and to an exceptional standard.
What you'll do
- Lead construction projects from early planning through to successful handover.
- Drive safe, high-quality and on-programme delivery, ensuring projects meet performance and profitability targets.
- Promote a strong Health & Safety culture on site, ensuring all procedures, RAMS and standards are consistently applied.
- Provide strong day-to-day leadership, keeping teams motivated, aligned and working to clear objectives.
- Build positive relationships with clients, consultants, statutory bodies and key stakeholders, representing the company professionally at all times.
- Monitor progress, manage risks and opportunities, and keep the project on track with look-ahead programmes and accurate reporting.
- Oversee quality management, ensuring all works meet specifications and are properly recorded.
- Coordinate subcontractors and supply chain partners, supporting procurement and ensuring smooth delivery.
- Maintain accurate site records, promote company values and contribute to continuous improvement across the project.
What you'll bring
As a Site Manager your main skills and experience will include:
- Essential: Extensive experience in the management of Construction projects.
- Experience of delivering residential schemes to NHBC Best Practice standards or equivalent (such as ICW or Global Homes).
- A positive awareness of the Commercial Management of site issues.
- Site Management Safety Training Scheme (5-day SMSTS).
- CSR/CSCS Qualification or equivalent.
- Relevant experience of client and end user engagement.
- Scaffold inspection training.
- Temporary works training.
- Qualified first aider.
- Desirable: Chartered CIOB Membership or progressing towards this.
- Experience of delivering schemes to Choice Housing Design Guide.
