We have successfully contributed to the Built Heritage of Ireland, with the delivery of iconic buildings such as the City Hall in Belfast, the Slieve Donard Hotel in County Down and Arnotts Department store in Dublin. Our contribution to iconic sites has continued in recent times with the ongoing development of the famous Kings Hall site in Belfast. As an Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering high quality projects, working as a valued member of the H&J Martin Construction team. You’ll collaborate closely with clients, subcontractors and internal teams, building strong relationships and playing a key role in pushing projects forward through accurate engineering, clear communication and a proactive approach. What you’ll do
- Assist in planning, supervising and inspecting of temporary works, ensuring safety and compliance.
- Accurately interpreting construction drawings and specifications and taking ownership in the implementation of Engineering Controls.
- Implement and ensure compliance with health & safety regulations, monitoring and recording health and safety activities as required.
- Contribute to preparation and organisation of the programme for work, including resource allocation, permits, risk assessments and method statements.
- Liaise with clients, internal departments, subcontractors and other key stakeholders to ensure the project develops in line with plans and timeframes, with no compromise in quality and delivery.
- Manage site teams and subcontractors, ensuring written and verbal communication or instructions are clear and understood.

- To undertake any other reasonable duties as required.
What you’ll bring
Essential:
- Foundation degree level or higher, in Construction Management or Civil Engineering.
- 2 years experience in a similar role.
- Confident in the use of IT, including construction related software such as AutoCAD.
- Proficient in the use of relevant surveying and setting out equipment.
- Full driving licence, that permits driving in the UK / Ireland.
Desirable:
- CSR / CSCS Qualification or equivalent.
- Qualified First Aider.
- Qualified or working towards temporary works co-ordinator.
- Qualified or working towards Appointed Person qualification.
