Essential Criteria

  • An Honours Degree (2:2 level or above) in English, or a related subject. English is a main or joint component.
  • A secondary level teaching qualification in English as recognised by the Department of Education by 31 August 2025.
  • A clear written statement of how you can support the College's integrated and inclusive ethos.
  • A minimum of 1 year's experience of teaching English to GCSE level (student placement is acceptable).
  • Ability and willingness to contribute to the extra-curricular life of the school.

Desirable Criteria

  • One year's experience of teaching GCSE English, post qualification.
  • Ability and/or willingness to teach general subjects at Key Stage 3 Level as per experience.
  • Experience of teaching Essential Skills Communication Level 1 and/or Level 2.

The Board of Governors reserves the right to refine the criteria for shortlisting purposes.
