Your Role

The PE Department is comprised of 6 core teachers. The staff are enthusiastic and work very well as a team. All staff are encouraged to be reflective in their teaching and share good practice. The PE Department is led and managed by a number of staff comprising the overall Head of PE, Head of Boys’ PE, Head of Girls’ PE, Head of Girls’ Hockey and the Saturday morning programme.

All students experience games and PE is offered at GCSE and A Level. A wide and varied extra-curricular programme is offered including basketball, football, hockey, netball, Gaelic and gymnastics. We also offer tennis, athletics and cricket in the summer months. We have state of the art PE facilities including a fitness suite, astro-turf, grass pitch, five tennis courts and two sports halls.

The successful applicant will be expected to be involved in the Saturday hockey programme in a coaching/umpiring capacity with the Head of Hockey and other teachers/staff. At present we do not offer a Saturday morning programme to boys, as the vast majority of our students play Soccer, Rugby and Gaelic for local clubs at the weekend.

The PE Department has been highly successful at competition level in many disciplines and we look forward to a new teacher joining our team to cover this maternity position. The successful candidate will also be expected to take form teacher duties, deliver personal development and support the extra-curricular activities within the College.
