As a graduate, you’ll be working with our highly experienced teams to provide the engineering skills and technologies needed to build in security critical environments.
With over 30 years of experience in over twenty countries, we are specialists in the delivery of airside and landside aviation projects for the Military and Civil Aviation Sectors. We operate across all major airports in the UK and Ireland, including logistically challenging regional airports such as those in the Highlands & Islands of Scotland and the Channel Islands. Globally, we have successfully delivered projects in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Caribbean. We’re also a key delivery partner to the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO), providing support to the UK Armed Forces at Ministry of Defence (MOD) bases throughout the UK and overseas.
Working as a graduate Quantity Surveyor at Lagan A&I, we’ll support you to develop your full potential for an exciting and rewarding career with us. You’ll get a broad introduction to our business and have the opportunity to learn from industry experts that will include the following:
- Monitoring the staff, labour and plant hire rates utilised on the contract
- Compiling weekly and monthly reports and managing cost allocation
- Assisting in the placing of subcontract task orders in accordance with the main contract
- Attending operational & Subcontractor meetings
- Supporting the monitoring of internal expenditure against budget
- Assisting with project commercial reporting
- Working on a broad variety of projects which help to develop and improve societies and the economy and look toward ensuring a sustainable future
What you’ll bring:
- Working towards or completed a degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline (RICS-accredited preferred)
- Relevant work experience or placement in the construction industry is advantageous but not essential
- Willingness to work towards professional membership with RICS, CICES or equivalent
- Right to work in UK and open to working overseas
- Effective communication skills developed through well-rounded life experience - academically, socially and in any previous work situations
- An analytical person with well-developed communication skills with the ability to build relationships with a wide variety of people at all levels
- Personal organisation skills, and the ability to collaborate with a team
