A unique opportunity to lead the thriving Philosophy and Religion department at the London Academy of Excellence Tottenham – the Sunday Times ‘State 6th Form College of the Year 2020‑21’. The department offers students a broad experience of the discipline, including external visits and opportunities to explore the subject beyond the specification. Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Philosophy and Religion department to maintain and improve high attainment outcomes.
  • Inspire and support students, ensuring they achieve outstanding results.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on curriculum development and departmental strategy.
  • Organise and monitor external visits and enrichment programmes.
  • Provide mentorship and professional development for teaching staff.

  • Exceptional subject knowledge in Philosophy and Religion.
  • Experience as a teacher and proven middle‑leadership experience.

Salary & Benefits: Pay is in the range £39,447 – £62,500 FTE, dependent on experience, using the LAE Tottenham pay scale. An additional £2,500 per annum Lead Teacher allowance is provided. Full‑time or part‑time (0.6 or more basis) positions are offered on a permanent basis. Benefits include free breakfast and lunch, Benenden Health private healthcare, and other standard staff benefits.
