Role Overview

The Assistant Store Manager plays a key leadership role in supporting the Store Manager with the day-to-day operations of the boutique. Working within a high-footfall international airport environment, you will help lead the team to deliver exceptional customer service, maintain Ladurée's luxury standards, and ensure efficient operational performance. You will act as the Store Manager's deputy, supporting the development of the team, driving commercial results, and ensuring the boutique operates smoothly at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Operational Support
    • Support the Store Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the boutique, ensuring alignment with Ladurée brand standards and Heathrow Airport procedures.
    • Assist in coordinating staff schedules and shift coverage to ensure efficient operations during peak trading periods.
    • Support operational planning to maintain efficiency, minimise wastage, and optimise labour costs.
    • Take responsibility for supervising the boutique and leading the team in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Team Leadership & Development
    • Lead by example and support the Store Manager in building a motivated and high-performing team.
    • Provide coaching and on-the-floor support to ensure the team delivers Ladurée's exceptional service standards.
    • Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and training of new employees.
    • Encourage teamwork, professionalism, and a positive working environment.
  • Customer Experience Tailored to Travellers
    • Ensure every customer receives a warm welcome and an elegant, efficient luxury retail experience.
    • Adapt service delivery to meet the needs of both international travellers and local clientele.
    • Support the team in resolving customer concerns professionally and efficiently.
    • Maintain Ladurée's reputation for exceptional hospitality and refined service.
  • Compliance & Brand Standards
    • Ensure strict adherence to Ladurée operational procedures, including food safety, hygiene standards, packaging protocols, and visual merchandising.
    • Support compliance with all Heathrow Airport regulations including staff conduct, health and safety, and security requirements.
    • Maintain impeccable boutique presentation in line with Ladurée's luxury brand standards.
  • Sales & Commercial Performance
    • Support the Store Manager in driving boutique sales performance and achieving KPIs.
    • Encourage upselling and cross-selling of Ladurée products to maximise customer spend.
    • Promote seasonal products, limited editions, and brand campaigns.
    • Assist in monitoring sales performance and identifying opportunities to improve results.
  • Presentation & Stock Management
    • Ensure the boutique is consistently well presented, clean, and aligned with Ladurée visual merchandising standards.
    • Support stock management processes including deliveries, inventory checks, and product rotation.
    • Monitor stock levels and help minimise product wastage.
    • Work closely with the Store Manager and supply chain teams to anticipate stock needs.
  • Communication & Reporting
    • Maintain clear and regular communication with the Store Manager regarding operational matters, team performance, and customer feedback.
    • Support daily reporting procedures including cash handling, POS reconciliation, and operational updates.
    • Ensure the team is informed about new products, promotions, and company updates.

Key Requirements

  • Minimum 12 years experience as a Supervisor or Assistant Manager in retail, hospitality, or luxury customer service environments.
  • Proven ability to support and motivate teams in high-volume, customer-facing environments.
  • Strong commitment to customer service and attention to detail.
  • Understanding of retail KPIs, sales targets, and operational performance.
  • Experience using POS systems and stock management procedures.
  • Full flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays in line with Heathrow Airport trading hours.
