Ladd & Co. is a private advisory firm built around a simple proposition: the most senior people in this business should be partners, not employees. We advise entrepreneurs, principals, and multi-generational families on M&A, capital placement, co-investment, international structuring, and complex cross-border matters. Our clients are ultra-high-net-worth families, single and multi-family offices, private holding companies, and institutional investors. The firm operates from New York, Palm Beach, George Town, London, Zürich, Dubai, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Sydney.
We are appointing Partners in select markets to originate and lead client relationships on behalf of the firm. Principal-level work, not a sales role.
Senior advisory work today sits awkwardly between two extremes: the bulge bracket banks, where experienced bankers spend half their time managing internal politics and accept compromised economics in exchange for a brand, and the boutiques, where senior bankers run their own shops but lack the global infrastructure, investor network, and cross-border execution capability needed to handle institutional work properly. We are building the third option: a firm with the standards of a private bank, the agility of a boutique, and the global infrastructure to execute mandates in any jurisdiction our clients operate in. Partners run their own client relationships under the firm's brand, with full execution support behind them, and keep the economics that reflect what they actually contribute.
You will originate and lead engagements with UHNW families, single and multi-family offices, founder-led enterprises, and institutional investors in your market and adjacent jurisdictions. The firm provides the platform: structuring teams, legal coordination, investor network, deal collateral, and senior execution support. You provide the relationships, the commercial judgment, and the senior presence to represent the firm at the principal level.
Who We Are Looking For
- Managing Director level and above.
- Typically 12 to 20+ years in M&A advisory, capital placement, investment banking, private banking, family office advisory, or a related discipline at a credible firm.
- The economics of this arrangement only work if you have an established network of business owners, family offices, and referral professionals capable of generating institutional-quality engagements.
What we expect:
- Established personal network among UHNW principals, family offices, or senior referral professionals (T&E lawyers, accounting firm partners, private bankers, RIAs).
- Direct senior experience leading transactions, capital placement, or family office advisory at a credible firm.
- Self-directed, entrepreneurial, and comfortable with the rhythm of variable compensation.
- Senior enough to represent the firm in any room and at any table.
Compensation
Partnership arrangement, not employment. Partners are independent contractors compensated through direct participation in advisory fees on engagements they originate. No base salary or retainer. Annual earnings target: $500,000 – $2,000,000 per year. The lower end reflects Partners closing one or two engagements per year. The upper end reflects senior Partners with deep networks closing four or more. Specific terms are discussed directly with qualified candidates.
Discretion
All enquiries are treated in strict confidence.
