Our Editorial Team is the powerhouse behind the content that informs, entertains and sparks conversation across football, F1, boxing, MMA, tennis, golf and beyond.
You'll be sourcing, writing, publishing and optimising engaging sport content that connects with our audience – whether that's through long‑form journalism, breaking news, social‑first formats or exclusive original angles. The team thrives in a fast‑paced, newsroom environment where no two days are the same. You'll work across a seven‑day editorial rota supporting live sport and breaking news coverage. There's constant opportunity for pitching original ideas, developing repeatable formats, collaborating with social and video teams, and leading on major editorial moments. Your impact is measurable – from driving traffic and engagement through smart packaging, to building new audience habits across underserved sports.
What We're Looking For
- Experience working as a Journalist, Social Editor, Social Journalist, Content Creator or in a fast‑paced digital newsroom / media environment
- A university degree and/or equivalent to Journalism, Broadcast or Media (or proven equivalent experience)
- Bonus points if you're NCTJ or Media Law trained!
- Experience working across social media platforms and digital publishing
Sports & Audience Knowledge
- Excellent sports knowledge, particularly football, with strong interest across wider sport (F1, boxing, MMA, tennis, golf, darts, athletics, NBA, NFL and major global events)
- A sharp instinct for what sports fans care about – from breaking news and viral moments to fan debates, personalities and cultural moments
- Strong understanding of how your audience consumes content across different platforms and formats
Content & Storytelling
- Proven ability to source, pitch and develop strong story ideas, including original angles, exclusive lines, interviews and behind‑the‑scenes features
- Excellent writing skills and editorial judgement, with the ability to write quickly and accurately across breaking news, trending content and features
- Strong headline, caption and visual packaging skills – ability to optimise imagery and presentation to drive performance
- Experience in developing engaging formats such as rankings, debates, explainers, timelines and evergreen guides
Platforms & Data
- Strong understanding of Facebook, Instagram and X/Twitter, with awareness of TikTok, YouTube, Reddit, WhatsApp and emerging platforms
- Confidence using data, analytics and audience insights to inform decisions and improve performance
- Understanding of SEO, Google Trends and search audience behaviour (or willingness to develop these skills quickly)
- Experience using design software to optimise imagery and CTRs (desirable)

- A proactive, creative and collaborative mindset with a brand‑first, audience‑first mentality
- The ability to remain calm, organised and decisive during live sport and breaking news
- Sound editorial judgement – creating content that is engaging, accurate, legally sound and adds value
- Flexibility to work across a seven‑day rota, including evenings and weekends when required
- Curiosity and willingness to learn new platforms, tools, formats and emerging audience opportunities
