Our site is set in the heart of the beautiful rolling landscape of Dumfries & Galloway in Scotland and is home to one of the leading UK cheddars, the Seriously brand as well as Galloway and Orkney. We are seeking a multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team in Stranraer.

The role will include mechanical and electrical maintenance, working on automated and semi-automated process plant and packing machinery. You will be solutions-driven, safety-conscious, highly motivated and have relevant experience in maintaining complex equipment in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment and be comfortable with the responsibility for the day-to-day maintenance issues within your shift team.

You must possess a strong health and safety awareness and be familiar with good manufacturing practices as relates to engineering in a food environment. Ideally, you will be well-organised and able to demonstrate good attention to detail. You must be able to take a structured approach to problem-solving and work effectively on your own initiative and as part of a shift team.

You should have FMCG experience ideally gained in the food industry and although a minimum of an HNC in an engineering discipline would be preferred, other electrical or engineering qualifications would be considered, including recently qualified electrical or mechanical apprentices. Knowledge of Lean Principles and familiarity with Shire’s Piranha maintenance management system would be advantageous. You will be open to change and used to communicating at all levels.
