Are you an accomplished private client tax specialist ready to take a leadership position in a thriving practice? Our client, one of the UK's most prestigious firms, is seeking a Private Client Tax Director to join their Plymouth office. This is an opportunity to take ownership of a high-quality portfolio, deliver tax planning for high-net-worth individuals and families, and play a key role in developing the practice's private client offering in the South West.
The Role
You’ll be part of a team leading the private client tax function, working with successful entrepreneurs, business owners, landed estates, and wealthy families. This is a genuinely advisory-focused role where you’ll be the trusted adviser on complex tax planning, succession, and wealth structuring matters.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading on complex private client tax advisory including succession planning, estate planning, and trust work
- Managing a portfolio of high-net-worth individuals, family offices, and landed estates
- Identifying tax planning opportunities and delivering sophisticated, tailored strategies
- Acting as the primary point of contact and trusted adviser to key clients
- Building and developing the private client tax team
- Contributing to business development, networking, and new client acquisition
- Mentoring and developing senior managers and aspiring directors
About You
You’ll be CTA qualified (or equivalent) with substantial experience in private client tax advisory. You understand the complexities of working with HNW clients and have a proven track record of managing sophisticated planning assignments. You’re technically excellent but also commercially minded, able to communicate complex tax matters in a way that clients value and understand. You build lasting relationships and are comfortable representing the firm at networking events and client meetings.
