Hours: 30 hours per week

Shift Hours: Approx 08:00 - 14:00

Hourly Rate: £14.11

School Term Time Contract (plus 2 cleaning days in addition) - Salary paid equally over 12 months

Are you a passionate Catering Supervisor or a Kitchen Assistant looking for a progression opportunity? If so, this role is for you and we'd love you to join our fantastic team based in schools across Cheshire West and Chester / Wirral / Halton / Flintshire.

If successful, you will be supporting the Catering operations in running the service at Barnton Community Nursery & Primary. You’ll be representing both Edsential and our school to ensure that all pupils have the best quality food and customer experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and supervising the Kitchen staff in the following duties:

  • Preparing and presenting food to a high standard of hygiene and safe practice
  • Allergen Management and dietary
  • Completion of all kitchen administration, i.e Health and Safety Checks, Allergen Management
  • Work to maintain accurate records and ensure kitchen targets are met, i.e stock control, food orders, quality assurance
  • Manage relationships with School Staff such as Teachers, Business Managers and Head Teachers
  • Management of kitchen staff i.e processing timesheets, absence management and probation meetings

  • Previous experience of running a school kitchen would be advantageous
  • The ability to empower and lead a team
  • Ability to build relationships and promote a positive work environment
  • A lead by example attitude
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a busy customer facing role
  • Flexible to work within other Edsential units as required
  • Comfortable working with IT systems - Full training will be provided on induction
