Location: Hybrid | Boldon Colliery, North East

Hours: 30 hours per week

Salary: Up to £35,000 FTE (depending on experience)

Laburnum Care Group is a growing provider of health and social care services across the North East. We’re looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our friendly, supportive team and take ownership of payroll across our Group. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys delivering an accurate, compliant payroll service while providing exceptional support to colleagues.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end payroll across multiple Group companies
  • Process starters, leavers and contractual changes
  • Calculate overtime, enhancements, mileage and statutory payments
  • Ensure compliance with HMRC legislation and pension requirements
  • Resolve payroll queries from colleagues and managers
  • Complete payroll checks and reconciliations
  • Work closely with HR and Finance to maintain accurate employee records
  • Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes as the Group continues to grow

About you

  • Previous end-to-end payroll experience
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and HMRC requirements
  • Experience using payroll systems and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • A proactive, customer-focused approach

Experience within health or social care would be advantageous but is not essential.
