Laburnum Associates undertakes construction projects, be it renovation, remodel or new build, on behalf of architects, property developers, speculators and private individuals.
At Laburnum Associates, we project manage every aspect of the building process, handling procurement and budgeting, appointing sub-contractors and artisans – whatever is required to deliver a completed, finely finished new build that entirely fulfils the brief and plans.
We currently have an opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to work full-time in our office in Pewsey. The successful candidate will support the QS team on all aspects of the construction process. The role involves working alongside the team to ensure projects are completed safely, on time and on budget whilst ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the production of cost plans, option studies, life cycle costing, cash flows and risk registers.
- Conduct project measurements using ‘Active Takeoff’ software
- Assist with market research and supplier quotations for material costs
- Maintain cost databases
- Help prepare tender and pricing documents
- Support tender processes, evaluations and contract negotiations
- Assist in compiling and managing contract documents
- Attend site visits and client meetings
- Undertake interim and final variations and contribute to cost reporting
- Assist with change control, variation evaluation and final account negotiation
- Support contract administration and employers agent duties
- Assist with dispute resolution and loss / expense claims
- Perform compliance checks and follow quality assurance procedures
Qualifications and Skills
- HNC / Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying / Construction management
- Achieved or actively working towards Chartership
- A good understanding of building regulations and legal obligations
- Ambition to deliver projects that meet client needs and objectives
- Ability to independently deliver small / medium sized projects with support from senior staff
- Well organised, with strong time management skills
- Negotiating and networking skills
- A strong knowledge of construction methods and materials
- IT Proficient
- Experience using Microsoft software and programmes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
