The Company

Labquip NDT are distributors of non-destructive testing (NDT) and elemental analysis equipment and products. Having achieved ISO 9001 certification in 2021, we are on the fast-track to success with our operations expanding and our exciting new Labino Apollo 2.0 lab, the first in the UK and only the eighth in the world.

We are currently seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis, working 39 hours per week over five days.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and self-motivated technical sales or engineering professional with ultrasonic knowledge and expertise in material science or NDT equipment to develop their career with our growing company. We will provide all the training you need to thrive from equipment suppliers and sales counterparts, building your technical expertise and developing your technical consulting capabilities through expert mentorship and long-term career development. The Role

As a Technical Sales Engineer, you will create sales opportunities for our NDT equipment product ranges with businesses across the South West, with a key focus on providing technical consultations. Specifically, you will develop sales of our ultrasonic thickness gauges, flaw detectors and probes, UV inspection lights, and handheld XRF, developing and managing relationships with new and existing customers, and identifying growth opportunities within accounts. You will proactively visit customers and prospects at their sites, deliver product demonstrations, and provide technical consultations, managing your own calendar, workload and customer base. Working with four counterpart UK Sales Engineers, Service Engineers, and Technical Specialists, you will seek to drive business expansion and customer satisfaction. Additionally, you will:

  • Develop a deep understanding of our product portfolio and its applications
  • Provide expert sales and technical support to both new and existing customers
  • Identify opportunities to cross-sell and expand accounts

About You

To be considered as a Technical Sales Engineer, you will need:

  • At least three years experience in a technical sales or engineering role
  • Knowledge of material science and/or NDT equipment
  • Ultrasonic knowledge
  • Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
  • A self-motivated approach
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with familiarity in CRM/ERP systems
  • A full, valid driving licence

Ideally, the successful candidate will live within the GL postcode to facilitate travel to our offices and across your assigned region.
