On behalf of one of our highly successful automotive clients, we are recruiting a strategic and hands-on Finance Manager. This is a pivotal senior role designed to lead the finance function, driving accuracy, commercial insight, and continuous improvement across the business.
Purpose of the Role
As a key member of the Senior Management Team, you will bridge the gap between finance, operations, and ownership. You will move the department from a "reactive processing" function to a "proactive business partner," ensuring the business remains profitable, stable, and highly efficient.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership: Manage and mentor a Finance Assistant, setting clear expectations, holding 1:1s, and fostering a culture of accountability.
- Financial Control: Maintain balance sheet integrity, oversee VAT submissions, and lead reviews of stock, WIP, and PO/PI exceptions.
- Cashflow & Payments: Maintain forward-looking forecasts and authorise supplier payment runs via Pinewood, ensuring decisions align with operational needs.
- Credit Control: Manage high-level escalations, negotiate payment plans, and monitor aged debt KPIs.
- Month-End Reporting: Prepare full management account packs (P&L with variance analysis, Balance Sheet, Cashflow) and present insights directly to the owners.
- Process Innovation: Lead the "weekly finance huddle," maintain error logs, and champion the use of Automation and AI within Pinewood.
About You
- Automotive Expert: Previous experience within an automotive dealership environment is essential.
- System Savvy: Confident using Pinewood DMS or similar dealership systems.
- Strong Leader: Ability to coach a team while managing high-level financial strategy.
- Process Driven: A passion for continuous improvement and up-to-date documentation.
