About the Role
We are recruiting for an experienced Forklift Driver / Team Leader to join a well-established agricultural business based in Soham. This is a hands-on position where you'll spend the majority of your time operating a Counterbalance Forklift Truck while also supporting the day-to-day leadership of the warehouse team. You'll play a key role in maintaining high standards of safety, training, productivity, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a Counterbalance Forklift Truck safely and efficiently.
- Act as the site's MHE Instructor, delivering forklift and job-specific training to warehouse operators.
- Maintain and update training records and the site training matrix.
- Support and supervise the warehouse team, providing guidance and resolving day-to-day operational issues.
- Carry out driver assessments, mentoring, and ongoing coaching.
- Conduct incident investigations and promote continuous improvements in health and safety.
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, inductions, and probation reviews.
- Provide operational support and cover across the team when required.
- Ensure company procedures and health & safety standards are followed at all times.
What We're Looking For
- Valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence.
- Previous experience operating a forklift in a warehouse or industrial environment.
- At least 1 year's Team Leader or supervisory experience.
- Minimum 3 years' warehouse experience.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- A proactive approach with the ability to motivate and support colleagues.
