We are currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Machinist on behalf of a well-established and growing manufacturing business within the timber and door production sector. This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking company known for producing high-quality products for customers across the UK. The successful candidate will play a key role in the production process, ensuring CNC machinery is programmed, operated, and maintained to the highest standards while supporting operational efficiency and product quality.

The Role

  • Setting, programming, and operating 3- and 5-axis CNC wood machines
  • Producing high-quality door components in line with production schedules
  • Working from production specifications and completing paperwork accurately
  • Carrying out ongoing quality control checks throughout machining processes
  • Preparing materials for machining including cutting, sanding, priming, and sorting components
  • Identifying machining errors and clearly marking acceptable materials
  • Supporting machine maintenance and minimising downtime where possible
  • Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment
  • Reporting faults, quality concerns, or operational issues promptly

Skills & Experience Required

  • Previous experience operating and programming 3- or 5-axis CNC machinery
  • Experience within timber, woodworking, or manufacturing environments preferred
  • Ability to work accurately from specifications and technical drawings
  • Strong understanding of quality control and production processes
  • Proactive approach to improving efficiency and reducing waste
  • Forklift licence advantageous but not essential
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
