Labour 24/7 are an employment agency acting on behalf of our Swinton based client who due to increased workload can offer permanent employment for an experienced Electrical Test Engineer. Successful candidates will be taken on permanent directly with the company. Our client is a well-established manufacturer of electronic equipment for the Aerospace, Oil, Gas, Nuclear and Defense industries and requires an experienced Electrical Technician to join their dynamic team.
As an Electrical Test Engineer, you will be required to test various units, systems, and subassemblies, either new build or customer units returned for repair. You will be required to test according to the relevant specifications to determine cause of unit failure, using electronic test instruments.
Responsibilities:- To be responsible for and to perform a variety of electronic, mechanical, and electromechanical tests on systems, subassemblies, and parts to ensure units function.
- Should units fail to fault find identifying point of failure to component level.
- ONC/OND in Engineering, or fully indentured in an Apprenticeship in Electrical/Mechanical testing and fault finding or NVQ Electro Technical Level 4.
- Good organisational and communication skills.
- Experience in testing of Electrical and Electronic assemblies preferably in aviation or MOD work.
- To be able to diagnose a fault on an electronic assembly and advise corrective action.
- To be able to test / fault find to board / component level.
- An understanding of both analogue & digital circuitry preferred.
Hours of work: Monday-Thursday. 37 hours per week.
