Document Controller
Up to £35,000 p.a.
Buckinghamshire
A Document Controller helps to record and issue design information for commercial and industrial building projects. Responsible for submitting and tracking design information to and from their clients in a consistent and timely manner. Submission of O&M manuals and development of format for consistency across projects.
Responsibilities:
- Upload and download construction information documentation (drawings, specifications, technical submittals, material samples…) to/from Construction Document Management Systems CDMS / EDMS (ProCore, 4Projects, Aconex, BIM 360, Asite, Sharepoint …)
- Produce and update consistent Excel Drawing lists for each project where drawings are produced.
- Emailing & recording drawings issued to client for approval when CDMS is not being used
- Downloading weekly report per project to be saved for auditing and record keeping.
- Monitor for late receipt of approvals, and chase client where necessary and/or notify the relevant Design Manager.
- Format of drawing naming and numbering to be consistent across projects.
- Consistency of folder structure across projects and consistency of drawings uploaded to ProCore system.
- Problem solving any Document Control issues as and when arise
- Training any staff to use various EDMS systems if needed
- Assist with the collation and arrangement of the submission of Operation & Maintenance (O&M) Manuals
- Managing and updating the processes of both Document Control and O&M Collating/ Issuing.
Skills required:
- Various EDMS software use
- Previous experience of using ProCore would be beneficial.
- Be experienced in the use of 2D AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
- You will need to be organised and report to your Design Manager on progress of workload.
- Relationship building skills.
