We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Fitter’s Mate to support an experienced duct fitter on-site. The role involves assisting with the installation, assembly, and maintenance of ductwork systems, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. This is a hands-on position ideal for someone looking to gain experience in HVAC and mechanical installation.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist the duct fitter with the installation of ventilation and ductwork systems
- Load, unload, and transport materials and tools around site
- Hold and position duct sections during installation
- Use basic hand and power tools under supervision
- Prepare work areas and ensure they are kept clean and organised
- Support measuring, cutting, and assembling duct components
- Follow instructions from the lead fitter and site supervisors
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations at all times
- Assist with maintenance and repair work when required
- Previous experience in construction or mechanical work (preferred but not essential)
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools
- Good physical fitness and ability to handle manual work
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Valid UK driving licence (required)
- CSCS card (preferred/required depending on site)
