Labcorp is seeking a Laboratory Scientist to join our Environmental Sciences team at Alconbury, near Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday – 37.5hrs
Job Responsibilities:
- Performing a variety of laboratory assays following standard procedures and study protocols
- Critical review of processes and study plans, suggesting changes where appropriate
- Reviewing own work for overall accuracy, timeliness, completeness, and soundness of technical judgment
- Maintaining study documentation alongside client and regulatory expectations
- Use of LIMS software
- Contributing to wider method development and validations projects
- Maintaining a safe and organized laboratory environment at all times
Minimum Qualifications:
- Degree in Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biomedical Science, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Environmental Sciences
Additional Job Standards:
- Experience in a fast paced regulated laboratory setting, understand Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and study protocols
- Worked to regulatory standards such as GLP (Good Laboratory Practice)
- Be able to motivate and influence others to ensure timely delivery of high quality results, and use own experiences to help in training of junior team members
- Experience in troubleshooting problems and informing appropriate channels for the reporting of issues
- Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment and comfortable working under minimal supervision
- Be able to effectively communicate throughout the lifecycle of a study with peers and study management
- Be highly motivated to produce high quality work against regulatory expectations
Due to the remote location of this site, there are no public transport links available.
We are looking for a Laboratory Scientist to focus on Biodegradation, Animal Metabolism and Dermal Penetration studies while also supporting a range of other study types involved in Environmental fate and plant metabolism. This will give you great exposure in working with different product lines and provide you with a wider skill set and experience.
