We are seeking a commercially driven and technically astute Sales / Account Manager to join our expanding UK team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and growing sales of chemical additives, base oils, and performance packages into the lubricants and metalworking fluids sector across the UK. This is a key customer-facing role suited for someone with a strong understanding of chemical products used in lubricants, and a proven track record of building lasting business relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and grow a portfolio of existing lubricant industry accounts across the UK
- Identify and develop new business opportunities with lubricant manufacturers, blenders, and distributors
- Provide technical advice and product recommendations in collaboration with internal application specialists
- Develop account strategies to meet sales targets and margin objectives
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and supply agreements
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to identify new opportunities
- Represent the company at industry events and trade shows where required
Essential Requirements:
- Proven experience in B2B technical sales, ideally within the lubricants, additives, or specialty chemicals industry
- Strong knowledge of the lubricants market, including base stocks, additives, or formulation technologies
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills
- Self-motivated and able to manage time and priorities independently
- UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly across the UK
Desirable:
- Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related technical discipline
- Familiarity with REACH, HSE regulations, and customer procurement processes
- Experience selling into formulators, blenders, or OEMs
