We are partnering with a leading chemicals and ingredients business in the UK & Ireland to recruit a Product Manager responsible for a specialist portfolio of pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs and excipients), used in drug formulation and development. This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly respected organisation with a strong market presence, technical expertise, and ambitious growth plans within the pharmaceutical sector.
The Role
As Product Manager, you will take ownership of a portfolio of pharmaceutical raw materials and ingredients supplied to pharmaceutical manufacturers and formulation companies across the UK & Ireland. You will be responsible for developing and executing product strategies, driving commercial growth, supporting customers with technical and market insight, and working closely with suppliers and internal sales teams to maximise market opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop a portfolio of APIs and excipients
- Build and execute strategic product plans to drive sales growth and profitability
- Identify new market opportunities and industry trends within pharmaceutical formulation
- Collaborate with suppliers, customers, and internal commercial teams
- Provide technical and commercial support to sales teams and customers
- Lead pricing, forecasting, and portfolio performance analysis
- Support new product launches and supplier relationships
- Attend industry exhibitions, conferences, and customer meetings across the UK & Ireland
About You
- Experience in Product Management, Product Marketing, or Technical Commercial roles within pharmaceuticals, chemicals, or ingredients
- Strong knowledge of APIs, excipients, or pharmaceutical formulation materials
- Commercially minded with strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Degree qualified in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Life Sciences, or a related discipline preferred
- Comfortable working cross-functionally in a customer-facing environment
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel when required
