Role Summary
Location: Stokesley, North Yorkshire (Labman HQ) – Full‑time, on‑site with travel.
Salary: £40,000 – £50,000.
The Role
As a Support – Electrical Engineer you will coordinate and lead technical support contracts, act as the key customer interface, organise service visits, and support the development of a small team of Support Engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate technical support for custom Labman laboratory automation systems.
- Plan and deliver preventative maintenance, reactive support, system upgrades, and training.
- Manage support contracts, service schedules, ticketing systems, and documentation.
- Act as the primary customer contact, building strong relationships and ensuring high‑quality service.
- Lead fault‑finding, diagnostics, and root‑cause analysis on complex electromechanical systems.
- Coordinate system testing, issue replication, and engineering investigations at HQ.
- Manage system upgrades, validation activities, and feature releases.
- Prepare engineers for customer site visits and support their technical development.
- Manage and mentor a small team of Support Engineers, allocating work and reviewing outputs.
- Produce support quotations and track contract performance.
- Drive continuous improvement of support processes and tools.
- Occasional travel to customer sites and Labman locations (including Liverpool and Jealott’s Hill) as required.
- Ensure all work complies with health & safety standards and site protocols.
What You’ll Need
- Degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent experience in Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering.
- Proven experience in a senior engineering, support, or maintenance role.
- Strong fault‑finding, diagnostics, and troubleshooting experience on automated or industrial systems.
- Excellent hand‑skills and a familiarity with tools of the trade.
- Experience coordinating work, projects, or small engineering teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and customer expectations.
- Excellent communication skills with both customers and internal stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

- Robotics, automation systems, or special‑purpose machinery.
